[As Jaina lives with her brother, he's chosen to combine their presents together with a large basket full of ahrisa that he's baked.
The note reads:
"This was my mother, your great grandmother's recipe." And then lists the ingredients and how to make them. Unfortunately there's no exact measurements and more or less says to go with your gut.]
[She goes looking for him later to thank him for the gift and reciprocate. It was a delicious gift even if she's going to need to work on her cooking skills a lot to be able to use a vague recipe like that.]
[While Anakin had been happy to leave gifts, he didn't want it acknowledged and there was really only one person who he wanted to reciprocate. Jaina's appearance has him shift awkwardly while he hopes this isn't what he thinks it is.]
[He'd been forced to learn out of necessity on Tatooine and then later it was just practical to know. His grandchildren seemed to have better opportunities and maybe they'd even have the luxury of never needing to know how.]
[Well this is a topic she'd happy to talk about. It's simple.]
Dad's ship, the Millenium Falcon. She's an old YT-1300 freighter... or at least started out as one. I don't know how many modifications it takes before we should probably stop calling it the stock model. She's got her quirks, but when everything's working she's fast.
[It'd have to be barely recognisable from the original model to still be running in her time. Most people didn't build things like a nine year old Anakin with C3-PO.]
She's got to be the oldest ship in the galaxy then.
Not to Mos Eisley or anything, but a lot of Outer Rim planets were important to the Rebellion. And if the government and the Jedi avoid the Outer Rim because it's dangerous, things will never get any better there. The New Republic has to care about those planets and they have to show it.
[He really doesn't know, does he? Apparently no one's told him many details]
The Hutts lost control of Tatooine twenty years ago when Mom killed Jabba. They squabbled a bit but no one managed to hold onto it and then all the tourist stuff started to set up because of Uncle Luke.
Why were-- [He cuts himself off before he could finish. He was going to respect the limits that Luke placed for his sister.] Never mind, don't tell me anything more. Luke says he doesn't want me to know anything about your mother.
[This year, Maul had decided to behave himself when it came to giving gifts, unlike in years past where he broke into people's houses rather like Santa himself did. All gifts are left on the porch or front step of the recipient's home for them to find in the morning.
For the Solo siblings, Maul left a basket filled with colorful knives for them to find. He may not have understood either of them. But he knew there were months were this place might make lightsabers inoperable and he didn't want them to be unarmed. Accompanying it was a note in blocky handwriting wishing the two of them a Merry Christmas signed from Darth Maul. (He was only being 75% sarcastic with that greeting!)]
[ Jaina will find a note sitting on the counter when she gets up.
Check the workshop.
The workshop-- a detached building not far from the back door-- has been tidied up. It took him awhile, but he's set up a spot specifically for Jaina. There's a large table with multiple power outlets in the wall for convenience. There are cabinets and rolling carts underneath the table filled with tools and supplies. Everything is cleaned and organized exactly the way Jaina likes.
A note is stuck to the top of the work bench.
It's not much but if anyone can make something out of what the Trench has to offer, it's you. ]

Grandfather?

...hi.

We managed to avoid burning the house down when we tried the recipe. I don't think cooking is really my thing.

It was a good way to learn. The only way to make her work is to really understand all the systems.

Your parents took you out there too? It's not exactly a great place to be.

Carefully:]
The Republic has never had any jurisdiction over Hutt space and I doubt that'd change with the New Republic.

If we can't talk about my mom, can you tell me about yours?

[He looks away and is quiet for a moment.]
I don't know if there's much to tell. I was a child when I left.

How much do you know already?

Owen should never have told Luke. It wasn't his story to tell.]
He shouldn't have said that.

[She hasn't seen it, but she heard some details at least]
It was mostly about you.

I've spent more time with the Jedi than I ever did with her. I wish I had more time with her.
